August

Miami in August is a vibrant coastal escape that radiates with peak summer energy, culture, and sun-soaked charm. Nestled between the shimmering turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay and the warm, welcoming sands of South Beach, the city thrives in the heat with a laid-back, tropical rhythm. August brings hot days and balmy nights, but with the ocean always within reach and countless pools to cool off in, the weather only adds to the experience. From the pastel Art Deco buildings of Ocean Drive to the rhythmic heartbeats of Little Havana, Miami pulses with life. Whether you're floating in rooftop pools, wandering through Wynwood’s vibrant murals, or enjoying late-night cocktails under swaying palms, August in Miami offers an unforgettable taste of summer at its fullest.

Why Miami?
Miami felt like the right pick for our August stop for a mix of fun and practical reasons. First and foremost August is the most important month of the year, why you may ask? It is Halle's birth month of course. With Halle’s birthday, we wanted somewhere lively to celebrate, and Miami’s energy, culture, and food scene made it an easy choice. It brings a different vibe from smaller spots like Wilmington, giving us that big beach city feel we were looking for. It also adds variety to our year, fits well with our route, and gives us a chance to spend time near Jake’s extended family. And yes—we’re ready (we think) for that full-on summer heat.

Where Are We Staying?
We will be staying in the Brickell neighborhood. Brickell, often dubbed the "Manhattan of the South," is Miami’s sleek, skyline-studded urban core where tropical energy meets big-city ambition. Once a strictly financial hub, it’s now a lively mix of luxury condos, rooftop bars, and trendsetting restaurants that keep the neighborhood buzzing long after business hours. Coming from NYC in June, we’ll be the judge of that Manhattan comparison—but first impressions are promising. Brickell’s walkability, vibrant nightlife, and stylish spots like Brickell City Centre make it a standout for both locals and visitors. With bay views and palm-lined streets, it’s a polished, energetic slice of Miami that feels both fast-paced and effortlessly chill.
Located in the heart of Miami’s vibrant Brickell neighborhood, this sleek one-bedroom Airbnb is perfect for travelers craving style and convenience. With a private balcony overlooking the city, a resort-style pool, and chic modern interiors, it feels like a true urban oasis. Just steps away from top dining, shopping, and nightlife, it’s an ideal base for soaking up all the energy and glamor that Miami has to offer.
